John Puttick

John Puttick founder of GBST Holdings Ltd – a leader in the provision of business solutions to the financial services sector.

Guiding GBST from embryonic idea through to listing on the Australian Stock Exchange has been the highlight of his multifaceted career in information technology, education and community service.

John is committed to student mentorship and tertiary education serving on the Council of the Queensland University of Technology; as Adjunct Professor in the School of ITEE at the University of Queensland  and Chair of the Business Council of the South Bank Institute of Technology.

Also involved in industry and professional development he is past Chair of Software Queensland; Awards Committee Chair of the Australian Computer Society Queensland and member of the NICTA Qld Advisory Board.

A Rotarian since 1986 he Chaired the Host Committee for the Rotary International Convention held in Brisbane in 2003, which attracted 17,000 delegates to the city.

He has participated in international business development forums for the State of Queensland and held a ministerial appointment to the Business Enterprise Board of CITEC. He is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Innovation.

He is mentored and assisted by his wife Gerri. Together they have seven great children and now eleven grandchildren.
